In today’s post, I will show you how to add friends to Snapchat. I want you to keep in mind that Snapchat isn’t like other Social Media sites where you can randomly view other potential friends in a news feed and ad. On Snapchat, you will need to know the person you want to connect with through your contact list on your phone or by knowing the Snapchat username of the person you would like to add to your connections.
Before we begin, here is a reminder of the Snapchat layout just incase you’re having trouble navigating to a specific panel I will write about below. We will Be spending all of our time in Panel 3 for today’s training.
Let’s get started!
1. Adding a friend to snapchat
A.) From the main camera menu(panel 1), swipe down or press the ghost icon located at the top of the screen.
B.) Lets begin with adding me to your connections by pressing the “Add Friends” button.
C.) Here you will have 2 options, “Add by Username” or “Add from Address Book.
“Add Friend button” will allow you to add people by knowing their Snapchat username.
“Add from Address Book button” will allow you to add people who may or may not be on Snapchat. For those connections on Snapchat, it will send the user a notification. For those who are not, it will prompt you to send a message inviting them to the app.
Click on the “Add by Username” button and type in my username ShaunAyala.
D.) When my username appears you will notice to the right side a “Plus” button will appear, that icon is informing you that their is an account available to add with that username. Press the “Plus” Button and you’ve just added a friend to your Snapchat account, completed! You will see a purple check mark to the right side of my name.
In the next post, I will show you how to share your first video or photo to me and how you can also share a “story” to everyone in your connections.
