How to create a Snapcode for any website link.

As of 1/31/17 this is only available on iOS devices.

  1. From your camera screen swipe down to go to your Snapcode screen.
  2. Tap on the Settings Icon
  3. Scroll down and tap on “Snapcodes” under the My Account section
  4. Tap on “Create Snapcode”
  5. Enter the URL of the website you would like to create a Snapcode for and tap on “Create”.
  6. Snapchat  will pull in the site’s description and asks you to “Tap to add an image!” for your new Snapcode.
  7. Once tapped, Snapchat will pull in images from the site’s URL for you to choose from and add to personalize your Snapcode. Snapchat will also allow you the option to access images from your camera roll.
  8. Once you’ve selected an image, you can pinch, rotate, and drag your image until it fits the way you want it.
  9. Click “Save” in the top right hand corner.
  10. You will be taken to a screen where you can preview your Snapcode. If you are satisfied with it, click “Save to Camera Roll”.
  11. Snapchat will store your New Snapcode to your camera roll. The new Snapcode will be on a black background with the website address and a message that states “Snap to unlock!”

Thats it! You created your first Snapcode for a website link!

Note: Snapcodes can only be scanned and use if the end user finds and scans the Snapcode. This makes it challenging because users can not screenshot the Snapcode directly within Snapchat and scan. The user needs to find it printed somewhere, seen on another device or see it by someone else sharing with them. Think creatively, you don’t want this to be just another Snapcode, make it interesting and worth scanning.

Go create that website Snapcode!
